The Sleep Seminar

the puresleep.com will run a sleep seminar for those who want to improve their sleep and for those who have sleep problems (including serious sleep disorders) . Sleep problems can have profound effects on quality of life and general health. Poor sleepers achieve less in work and play than good sleepers.

Seminars will be run at the Private Sanctuary (60 Tib Street, Manchester, Tel: 0161 835 9265) starting August 2002. They will consist of talks on sleep, sleep research, conventional therapies and non-conventional therapies. For non-conventional therapies there will be special Yoga, meditation and massage classes as well as presentations on aromatherapy and herbal medicine.

Next seminar Spring 2004.

Seminars will have two parts. The first part will consist of three hours of lectures, refreshment and discussion, led by Prof Chris Idzikowski on:

  • What is sleep?
  • What happens if sleep goes wrong?
  • What do I need?
  • How can I get it?
    • Conventional treatment
    • Non-conventional treatment
    • Alternative therapies
  • Individual problems

There will be approximately 10-12 participants per seminar.

The second part of the Sleep Seminar, which is optional and specific to each individual, will be run at following centres in the Northern Quarter, Manchester: YogaSpace, and R3 at later dates. Specially designed, sleep-specific seminars will be available.
